What Becomes a Table Most?

via Joe Doucet Studio

Sustainability! Flat pack furniture is ugly and/or poorly designed you say? Ikea's ruined it for everyone? Nay, nay friends as STUDY discovered when Contemporist tuned us onto the beauty called "ScrewTop" by Joe Docet.  I'd like to pretend that this post is all about being green and earth-friendly, but the fact that this table is sexy beyond belief is infinitely more important than any eco-saving benefits we might run into.

The Vintage Bazaar - Summer Edition

DSC_0021

We came, we saw, we bazaaaaar-ed. For the second time in 2010 the Vintage Bazaar rolled through Chicago and went off without a hitch thanks to the efforts of our intrepid hosts Katherine Raz and Libby Alexander... and a ton of great volunteers/staff who were more than willing to clean up the beer cans leftover on the Congress Theater floor from Friday night's DMX show. STUDY isn't really into DMX per se, but what we are into is making people happy through vintage (P.S. unsold lots after the jump!)

Vintage Bazaar Preview Day

White vinyl Hollywood Regency chair, water buffalo horn, Carrera marble lamp, blue bowl.  Nesting tables upholstered in vintage fabric.

Why hello, and welcome to my basement.

Last night John and I started the dry run for booth setup at the Vintage Bazaar, Second Edition.  Surprisingly, there were very few tears and only a couple of fistfights.  We were unusually polite to each other, even during tense moments of epic importance when deciding where to place the driftwood, because we both have objects and display elements that we are sooo EXCITED over.

To pique your interest, here are a few teaser pics after the jump:

STUDY at the Vintage Bazaar II

Its been a hot, sticky, busy summer here at STUDY, namely due to our new home, excessive pets, and intrusive day jobs.  Fortunately we use every spare minute of our lunch breaks and weekends acquiring shiny and unique objects that we want you to buy.  Do not be fooled by the tired old photo headlining this post–– we literally have amassed a cellar full of THINGS. Currently the worker bees of STUDY are cataloging, pricing, and polishing the contents of our new basement warehouse in anticipation for the second Vintage Bazaar, happening this Sunday at the Congress Theater from noon to 7 PM.
