STUDY Presents: Bibliophile Boyfriend
It may seem like this year the only gift option for the bookish among us is an e-reader, but here at STUDY we're old school and still like the experience of flipping pages and closing a book every once in a while to admire the cover. Actually, we think reading is about the whole experience - so for the man in your life whose home is bordering on library, here are a few options to help round the place out.
(Clockwise from top left)
1. Roosevelt Glasses by Warby Parker - $95
2. Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair - Contact dealer for price
3. Michael Lax Lytegem Task Lamp - $550
4. Aventurine Green Quartz Bookends - $75
5. Freedom by Jonathan Franzen - $19.60
6. Rhodia Black and Orange Pencils - $38.95
7. Vintage Rockwell Kent Pegasus Bookplate - $12.50
1. Roosevelt Glasses by Warby Parker - $95
What with all that reading he's been doing, your boyfriend's eyes are obviously shot. Do him a favor with some stylish and affordable specs.
2. Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair - Contact dealer for price
This chair has original leather upholstery from the 60s, is located in New York and does not have a price listed. This also means that it's probably $10,000+. Still, it's the perfect place to lose a few hours with a book.
3. Michael Lax Lytegem Task Lamp - $550
If you just bought your beloved a $10,000 chair, why not throw in a $500 task light? Maybe you can forgo the glasses in that case.
4. Aventurine Green Quartz Bookends - $75
Perfect for keeping that Hardy Boys collection in order.
5. Freedom by Jonathan Franzen - $19.60
If he hasn't already read this, the most talked about book of the year should definitely be under his Christmas tree.
6. Rhodia Black and Orange Pencils - $38.95
Still the only stylish way to mark up a book. We'd also like to see someone try using one on a Kindle.
7. Vintage Rockwell Kent Pegasus Bookplate - $12.50
We don't advocate actually putting bookplates inside of books because more often than not they're just too gorgeous. Frame this and then pat yourself on the back.
But if you do wake up Christmas morning and find that Santa's left you an e-reader, don't fret... you can still continue to be stylish... you just can't have a library. So we'll leave you with this PSA: Please continue to buy books this holiday season. The Bibliophile Boyfriend would want you to.
