Dream Kitchen, Come Rescue Me
Parenthesis 25th Annual Kitchen Walk home styled by STUDY
I went through a college photo album trying to find a photo of the first kitchen I ever called mine - a sloppily painted lime green affair where I painted fruit on all of the cabinets. The triumphs in my journey as a domestic savant (and designer) are often measured in this room. John and I have both had our own share of kitchen successes and failures, and we are about to embark on another culinary-induced renovation which we will, no doubt, tell you all about soon enough. Suffice it to say that right now there's a hole in ceiling so we'll just hold off for now.
But speaking of kitchen design successes and failures, this weekend marks the 26th annual Parenthesis Kitchen Walk, benefitting the Parenthesis Family Center. STUDY has styled kitchens for this walk a handful of times, and this year we continue the tradition by styling a beautifully renovated home and kitchen in my old neighborhood of south Oak Park.
Owned by a couple who have a considerable amount of style, we are excited by the collection of art and accessories we have to work with. Julie and Noah have seamlessly transformed a 1920's two flat into the single family home of their dreams. Julie herself is a designer with fantastic taste, but STUDY had the honor of selecting paint colors for the home, as well as assisting in the styling for this event. The kitchen itself was designed by Figg-Halpin Design of Oak Park, longtime friend and affiliate of STUDY.
We can't reveal pictures of this year's selection, but we can show a contribution from last year's. Dana and Mike's Dutch Colonial has a kitchen designed by Figg-Halpin, with paint colors and styling by STUDY.
Tour ten kitchens, including the one we worked on!
