Amazing Sales
Weekends in Chicago were made for sales and this one coming up promises to be an absolutely stellar excuse to drop a few bills on vintage furnishings. We're forgoing our usual weekend estate sale route in favor of hitting up these markets and sales starting with the not to be missed Amazing Space Sale in Oak Park.
Amazing Space Sale
191 N. Marion St. #3 Oak Park 60301
9 AM - 3 PM
We aren't magicians. We can't bring back Marshall Field's, the Playboy Club, or save Prentice Women's Hospital. And though we may beg, we can't convince Diana to bring back her boutique, Amazing Space. But this Saturday, June 11th, Diana opens the doors to her ever evolving collection for us to peruse and purchase. Here are just a few available items to whet your appetite:
If you're car isn't full after that, here are a couple of other places you may just find a new treasure for your home.
Midsommarfest
5200 North Clark @ Foster
June 11th and 12th - 11am to 10pm
You may come to Midsommarfest as an excuse to drink outside while listening to Swedish music, but over the last few years there have been an increasing number of standout artisans and vintage sellers peppering the street. Not to mention the A'ville mainstays like Brimfield who bust outside to sell discounted goods on the street. Definitely make this a must do this weekend as we've scored some unexpected treasures here in the past like this glass and metal terrarium used to style a home for the Oak Park River Forest Kitchen Walk:
Also, while you're there make sure to check out the brand new Haymaker Shop.
Old Town Art Fair
Historic Old Town Neighborhood
Wisconsin St. & Lincoln Ave.
June 11th and 12th - 10am to 6pm
We know that Art Fairs are generally a mixed bag, but as long as you can steer clear of any metal lawn ornaments, you'd be smart to hit up this Old Town event going into it's 62nd year! There's really nothing better than finding relevant artists among the other ahem work... and this is yet another excuse to drink outside.
Any other great sales going on this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
